ABSTRACT

This kind of paper talks about the design, implementation and evaluation of a solitary phase (240V, 50Hz) capacitor bank control mechanism unit. Electrical power factor correction using capacitor banks decreases reactive electrical power consumption that will lead to minimization of losses and at the same time increases the electrical system's efficiency. Electric power saving issues and reactive power administration has brought towards the creation of single stage capacitor banking companies for home-based applications. The development of this task is to enhance and up grade the procedure of single phase capacitor banks simply by developing a micro-processor based control system. The control product will be able to control capacitor lender operating actions based on the varying insert current. Current transformer is employed to measure the load current for sample purposes. This kind of project is applicable the Peripheral Interface Control mechanism ( PIC ) microcontroller to produce turning commands in order to control the capacitor financial institution steps. Intelligent control employing this micro-processor control unit assures even utilization of capacitor actions, minimizes number of switching businesses and makes the most of power aspect correction. Neon lamp will probably be use as loads with this single period capacitor bank developments. That fluorescent light fixture shall be broken into different fill value to allow capacitor financial institution model is definitely controlled methodically.
