Dementia is a complicated topic that could be looked at via many different views. There are two main categories of dementia; cortical and subcortical dementia. The focus of this paper will be on cortical dementia. Symptoms of dementia start out little by little and generally improvement over time. The number of people with some type of dementia is an estimated twenty four million around the world. (Label) It can be one of the planet's fastest developing diseases in fact it is only having worse. The subject, Penny Liddy, started out with symptoms of dementia at age 68. She got to the actual of forgetting key events, hallucinations, and having lost whilst driving. Following these issues started to multiply, her family took her to the Center for Healthy Maturing, an adult geriatric clinic wherever she was evaluated and diagnosed her with cortical dementia.
